Nylon Roller This is an industrial conveyor equipment component made primarily of nylon, serving as an ideal replacement for metal rollers.
Material Properties: Nylon rollers typically use materials such as MC nylon or cast nylon, which boast tensile strengths of 60–80 MPa—nearly matching those of ordinary cast iron—and exhibit excellent high-temperature creep resistance. Nylon has a density of 1.1–1.2 g/cm³, about 1/6 that of steel, making it remarkably lightweight. Moreover, its impact toughness far surpasses that of metal, with a notched impact strength of ≥15 kJ/m². It also possesses "elastic damping" properties, enabling it to absorb vibrational energy effectively. Additionally, pure MC nylon boasts a friction coefficient as low as 0.1–0.2, coupled with extremely low thermal conductivity—just 1/50th that of steel.
Performance Features
Excellent wear resistance: With a low coefficient of friction, the belt is less prone to wear, effectively protecting the conveyor belt and extending its service life.
Excellent self-lubricating properties: No oiling is required during operation, and it remains resistant to seizing even under harsh environmental conditions, enabling maintenance-free operation.
Highly corrosion-resistant: Exhibits excellent resistance to aging and is durable against weak acids, weak bases, and organic solvents, allowing for long-term use in corrosive environments.
Highly impact-resistant: Can withstand repeated impacts and vibrations without easily getting damaged.
Good sealing performance: Typically equipped with labyrinth-type seals and other structures, these bearings offer excellent dustproof and waterproof capabilities, effectively protecting the bearing and preventing dust and moisture from entering.
Low noise: Operates quietly, typically producing just 3–7 dB of sound, which helps improve the working environment.
Long service life: Its lifespan is 3 to 5 times longer than that of metal rollers, reducing the frequency of roller replacements and lowering maintenance costs.
Specification Dimensions: The diameter range for nylon rollers includes both Chinese standards (89mm, 108mm, 133mm, 159mm, 194mm, etc.) and British standards (102mm, 114mm, 127mm, 152mm, etc.), with lengths ranging from 190mm to 3,500mm. The shaft diameters measure between 20mm and 45mm, and the thicknesses range from 8mm to 15mm. We also offer custom specifications tailored to meet specific customer requirements.
Installation and Maintenance: Nylon idlers are lightweight and easy to install, reducing labor intensity. During installation, ensure that the idler shaft is parallel to the direction of conveyor belt movement, and verify that the height difference within the same set of idlers meets the specified requirements. For maintenance, always use genuine factory-sealed components and maintain proper bearing clearance. Additionally, for high-speed nylon idlers, regular lubrication checks are essential—typically, replenish with high-temperature grease every 3 to 6 months.
Application scenarios: Nylon rollers are widely used in belt conveyor systems across industries such as mining, power plants, cement factories, metallurgy, chemical processing, and grain handling—particularly well-suited for outdoor environments with high dust levels and corrosive conditions.
Nylon Roller As a new generation of energy-efficient and environmentally friendly conveyor accessories, these products are gradually replacing traditional steel idlers thanks to their outstanding features such as wear resistance, lightweight design, and low noise levels—they’ve become the ideal choice for industries including mining, ports, power generation, and chemical processing. Opting for high-quality nylon idlers not only enhances the operational efficiency of conveyor systems but also effectively extends the overall equipment lifespan, ultimately reducing enterprise maintenance costs.
